They became some of the first viticulturists in the Galt/Elk Grove area, operating the Bradford Winery, north of Twin Cities Road. Bruceville Road is named after Mary F. nee Bruce) Bradford. Philip Bradford's son, Hugh Bradford was a Sacramento Assemblyman (1913-1915 and District Attorney 1915-1923. His wife, Mary Beatrice Bannon, was the National PTA president and the granddaughter of Patrick Bannon, Sacramento pioneer. (Bannon slough, Bannon Island at Discovery Park).
