Tower Theatre & Cafe

Article by ExploreSAC on Sunday, 20 of July , 2008 at 6:34 pm

Tower Theatre and Tower Cafe, on Broadway in downtown Sacramento, mark the location where the Tower Records music store chain started. The Tower Cafe now sits where the original Tower Drugs was located. It was in the back of the drug store that Tower Records was born. The original Tower Records neon sign, see below, is now above the cafe. The Tower Theatre is classic 1940’s era and is a favorite for indie movie buffs. Tower Records is now closed, but the theatre and cafe live on.
