Consisting of more than 160 drawings, paintings, animation cels and related art objects used in the making of Warner’s classic cartoons, the exhibition traces the development of all of Warner’s cartoon stars and provides a step-by-step breakdown of how classical cel animation is made.

Holiday Parade in Roseville

A parade and other events to kick off the holidays will be held Saturday in Roseville.

The events begin with a breakfast with Santa from 8 to 10 a.m. at the Roseville Theater, 241 Vernon St.

The Sylvia Besana Annual Holiday Parade follows at 10 a.m. through downtown Roseville. The route begins at the intersection of Riverside Avenue and Douglas Boulevard and Vernon Street, proceeding down Vernon Street and ending at the back of Roseville Square shopping center.

Gold Rush History Center

Learn more about the history of California’s Gold Rush and its connection to Sacramento at the Gold Rush History Center, part of the Discovery Museum. Located at 101 I St. in Old Sacramento, the Gold Rush History Center is free for children and members and is open most days between 10am and 5pm.

Sacramento State University Library Gallery

Located on the first floor of the CSUS library, the Library Gallery is part of the concept to make Sac State a “campus of the arts.” The Gallery was originally created in 2001-2002 and is not only intended for art exhibits, but also hosts performances such as music recitals, poetry readings and other arts-related events. Admission is free and the gallery is open between 10am and 5pm Tues through Sat.

California Museum for History, Women and the Arts

It’s also a great place to bring your children for inspiration. The Board of Trustees includes First Lady Maria Shriver, who helped to revitalize the museum. The Advisory Board includes notable historians, scholars, writers, teachers, artists and others. Visit The California Museum for History, Women and the Arts in the State Archives Building in Sacramento, CA, one block from the Capitol and enjoy 20,000 square feet of exhibits, facilities for lectures, performances, receptions and events. The museum is also home to the California Hall of Fame and Constitution Wall as well as many other current exhibits.

Sacramento Philharmonic Orchestra

The Sacramento Philharmonic Orchestra is more than the 83 musicians and Music Director, Michael Morgan, seen on stage. Performances are located at the Community Center Theater, in Sacramento. Single or season tickets are available either at tickets.com or at the Sacramento Community Center Theater. Several parking facilities can be found around the theater, and valet parking is available as well.

Sacramento Opera
