Stop by for lunch and stay for dinner! No tickets, no fees, just lots of great food and drink!

Please note the SactoMoFo HoHoHoliday Brewfest at Power Balance Pavilion has been postponed until later in 2012. Maloof Sports & Entertainment, CBS Radio and SactoMoFo plan to hold a huge outdoor event, including beer tasting from terrific microbreweries all over California and other extras. Those who bought tickets can get a refund at the purchase location. You won’t need a ticket for the December 3 event; admission is 100% free: just dress warm, bring small bills and a big appetite and get your snack on!

The December 3 event is a winter food drive for the Sacramento Food Bank and the U.S. Marines Reserve’s Toys for Tots, so please bring canned or packaged dry goods and new unwrapped toys to donate. Santa will also be available for photos with both little and big kids for a small donation to a local children’s Christmas charity. See you under the freeway!

It seems everyone has a list of favorite mobile apps for their smartphones, whether it’s an iPhone, Android, or Blackberry. I love my Android Galaxy S and would like to share my favorite apps, but since this is a Sacramento-based site for things in and around Sacramento, I’m going to limit my list to apps that I use on a local level (or on vacation).

Here are my top ten locally-used Android apps, in no particular order:

Foursquare – Check-ins, mayorships, and special Foursquare-only offers at some stores & restaurants are reasons to use this app.

TweetCaster – Now that @ExploreSac is on Twitter, I’ve found TweetCaster to be the best Twitter app for Android, hands down.

Google Maps (+Navigation, Latitude & Places) – There are a few apps that come with Google Maps that make it a well rounded package.

GasBuddy – Use this app to find the cheapest gas prices in your area. This has saved me money more than a few times.

CraigsNotifica – As the name implies, this app is good for getting notifications on saved searches on Craigslist.

Garage Sale Rover – Planning a garage sale outing using Craigslist can be a pain. This app plots the locations on a map. Amazing!

Urbanspoon/Yelp – Both great for finding restaurants and reviews. Urbanspoon has a handy slot machine style randomizer to help decide where to eat.

Groupon/Living Social – These two apps offer similar popular daily deals services that can help you get discounts to restaurants, stores, services & events.

The Weather Channel – This is very convenient for knowing how to dress the kids in the morning without waiting for the news forecast or turning on the computer.

Zillow – If you quickly want information on a house for sale in your area, this is a nice app that will provide details, photos, map and aerial views, and more.

Find more great apps in the Android Market.

Do you know of any apps I didn’t include, but are worthy of a top ten list? What are your favorites? Please share in the comments below.

No related posts.

If you have any other tips, please leave a comment below. Enjoy!

Fans should start by showing up at ARCO Arena just over an hour before tipoff and stroll down to the floor.

Head over to the security elevator near Section 222 (the one with the Kings logo on it next to guest services) at halftime.

As the game concludes, fans should make their way down to the player and personnel entrance – the doors shadowed by the murals of Francisco Garcia, Beno Udrih and Omri Casspi just to the right of the main Southeast entrance.

The Kings also offer fan experience ticket packages. Organizations, schools and churches that bring 20 or more people to games through this deal can choose from a variety of different interaction opportunities, such as high-fiving players as they come out onto the floor and meeting a coach prior to tip-off.
