Yard Crashers on DIY Network

Article by ExploreSAC on Tuesday, 10 of March , 2009 at 4:18 pm

Yard Crashers Host Ahmed Hassan

I was flipping through the channels a while back and came across a show I hadn’t seen before called Yard Crashers. I was about to move on when I saw that they were at OSH and heard the host mention Sacramento. I thought it was a fluke, watched the show, and soon forgot about it. Until yesterday…

The same thing happened – I was flipping through the channels and happened across Yard Crashers. This time they were at Emigh Hardware, located on El Camino near Watt Ave! It wasn’t a fluke.

Yard Crashers is a home improvement show, like Curb Appeal or , hosted by landscaper Ahmed Hassan. The crew stakes out a hardware store and ambushes customers. Most are too startled or standoffish, but inevitably one will accept Hassan’s offer and Yard Crashers has a new project. Yard Crashers is the product of the Sacramento firm, Idea Factory. More information about the show can be found on SacBee.com.

I looked through our TV’s guide and found more episodes to record, but also saw that they were all older episodes. Apparently it’s between seasons, which makes me think they’re going to start filming soon, especially since the weather is getting nicer! So, keep an eye out for Ahmed Hassan at a local hardware store! You might be able to get a free yard renovation!

Article by ExploreSAC on Thursday, 19 of February , 2009 at 11:07 am

Apparently a settlement was reached between Subway and the State of California regarding claims that certain locations were not honoring advertised specials. So, the first 142,000 California households that visit this site and fill out the form will recieve a $2.00 gift card.

Click here to get your free Subway gift card.

I know, $2.00 isn’t much and it may take a few months to get here, but hey, why not? It only takes a couple seconds…

New Direction?

Article by ExploreSAC on Monday, 2 of February , 2009 at 3:20 pm

I’ve been debating this for a while, which may be evident by the lack of activity on ExploreSACRAMENTO.com lately… Should I take the blog in a slightly different direction?

I feel that I may be able to post more often and provide more of a service if I were to have a wider focus and include more news and items of interest rather than just things to do in Sacramento. I’ve covered quite a bit in that regard, already, and I guess I need to know where to draw the line. I have neither the time nor the resources to include everything there is to do in Sacramento and I would quickly forgo my agenda of keeping the blog family-oriented.

While I am definitely leaning toward moving in a new direction rather than disappoint with an inactive blog, I’d like to hear from you. Please feel free to comment and let me know what you think…
